The Internal Audit Department is responsible for providing independent and objective evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control systems in various areas and functions of the Group and making relevant recommendations for improvement. This position allows you to gain exposure to different activities within the Cathay Group including international travel. Reporting to the Audit Committee, the Internal Audit Department is responsible for providing assurance over all types of risks across the Group, aside from Safety and Quality risks which are managed through a separate function (Group Safety and Operational Risk Management).

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the planning and execution of audit assignments and special reviews

* Report audit findings and recommendations

* Follow up the status of the implementation of audit recommendations

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Internal Audit function including suggesting and implementing changes to ways of working

* Manage Internal Audit’s ongoing relationships with stakeholders up to General Manager level

Requirements:

* Degree holder with an internationally recognised Internal Auditing and/or Accounting qualification

* Minimum 5 years’ internal and/or external audit experience in a Big 4 audit firm or multinational corporation

* Sound analytical and report writing skills

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence others

* Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the internal audit team and the wider business

* A team player who is self-initiated, independent and able to meet tight schedules

* Excellent in written and spoken English and Mandarin

* Approximately 30% of travel should be expected

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
