Reporting to the Director, Products, APCS, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the strategic product management and development of the Timatic portfolio.

The chosen candidate will lead a team of product managers, operation managers and SME’s to ensure the immigration regulations contained in Timatic are sourced, processed and published in Timatic, and the various solutions continue to support the mission critical check-in and reservations processes of airlines and travel agents. In addition to ensuring both the quality and performance of the Timatic solutions, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving excellence in service delivery leading to best in class customer experience. They will also work with key stakeholders both within and external to the Timatic team to ensure the continued commercial success to the Timatic product portfolio.

The Assistant Director will lead a strategic review and redevelopment of the core Timatic solutions.

Responsibilities

* Lead and execute the strategic review and vision for the Timatic portfolio, covering operational fulfillment and the expansion of product sales into existing and new markets.
* Manage the P&L of the portfolio, including budgets and forecasts, ensuring the revenue and profit targets are met
* Manage the product leads to develop and execute product and marketing plans leading to continued growth and commercial success of the Timatic product portfolio
* Together with the operational leads ensure the Timatic content continues to be sourced, processed and published in a timely manner and with the highest quality as demanded by Timatic customers
* Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication, and develop the Timatic team to achieve their individual potential
* Accountable for product delivery and customer satisfaction including technical support, queries and expertise
* Promote the Timatic portfolio at various events, conferences, seminars and forums to generate awareness and increase the uptake of the products
* Working with the Timatic leadership team and consultants, lead a strategic review and redevelopment of the core Timatic solutions including Timatic, Timatic AutoCheck and Timatic CMS
* Initiate and lead product enhancements and new products development
* Maintain and develop internal and external stakeholders network, industry experts and external key accounts
* Working closely with the sales and marketing team and other regional staff as well as all other support functions (finance, human resources, procurement, IT, etc.)
* Support the Director APCS Product in implementing the IATA vision of commercial independence.

Qualifications and Skills

* University degree (bachelors or post-graduate);
* 10 years experience in product management, product innovation, business development, or marketing/sales activities
* Experience in the air transport industry, preferably in the area of passenger experiences or airport operations
* Have managed a profit center of at least 8 digits dollars revenues with ability to close 7 digits USD revenues contract
* Understanding of technology, preferably in airline and travel management systems
* Possess a customer-centric mindset in professional interactions with customers
* Must have a commercial outlook understanding strategies to continuously improve the operating results of the product portfolio
* Knowledge of budgetary processes and financial projections
* Experience in working in multi-cultural environments;
* Excellent leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to create and develop teams and individuals;
* Strong communication, relationship management and negotiation skills with experience in closing "C" level deals.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential; knowledge of other languages would be an asset
* The ability to work in a complex, business critical and high profile commercial and operational environment, as well as in ambiguous situations
