Position Description:

Role Summary:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial, reporting and accounting operations in the US including; budgets, forecasting, monthly closings, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, oversight of the accounting staff and other business initiatives which relate to the accounting functions. In addition, this position will partner with the MOCON Europe Controller and other AMETEK International accounting leaders to ensure US GAAP and SOX compliance for the consolidated MOCON BU is accurate and in compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the day to day operations of the accounts payable, general accounting and cost accounting functions. Assign duties and examine work of subordinates for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Design and manage a well-controlled and global close process to ensure all internal and AMETEK corporate deadlines are met.
• Ensure completeness and timeliness of all Corporate required HFM reporting and web forms.
• Complete internal management reporting package and ensure accuracy and timeliness of data included.
• Provide support to internal MOCON management to understand product margins, department spending, project costs and other financial metrics.
• Provide leadership, development and strategic direction to accounting staff.
• Assist with all internal and/or external financial and SOX audits.
• Coordinate annual budgeting process and global consolidation of budget data. Monitor and report actual performance to final approved budget.
• Inform VP Finance/BU Controller regarding accounting related activities, opportunities, and recommended actions (specifically revenue recognition principles, capital budgets and regulatory compliance items).
• Develop and maintain SOX and operating policies and procedures of the accounting areas.
• Adhere to AMETEK’s internal control structure for compliance with SOX 404.
• Identify process improvements and recommend changes to improve systems, processes and performance.
• Assist the VP Finance/BU Controller with cash management by directing the payables process.
• Process and review commission reports, as necessary.
• Identify staff needs and provide technical guidance and training.
• Develop relationships with business units to expedite workflow and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
