Assistant Accounting Services Manager

Department: Finance Services Department

Reports to: Accounting Services Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a high-caliber individual to join our Financial Services Department (FIN). As the Assistant Accounting Services Manager, you will be the main point of contact for the designated Business Unit(s) for all financial related matters, maintain and provide analyses of performance and scorecards and liaise closely with overseas teams across different regions for accounting related issues.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Business Partnering

* Be the main point of contact with Business Unit(s) for all financial matters

* Act as a business partner to Business Unit Management in developing and managing annual budgets, forecast and overall Business Unit(BU) financial performance

* Analyse Business Unit Performance and drivers to help form commercial recommendations to increase cost efficiency and reduce revenue leakage

* Review and improve model of building budgets / forecasts to drive accuracy and efficiency continuously

* Provide support & assistance to business units in relation to cost monitoring and internal controls

* Track project performance to budget and advise and monitor on the measurement and tracking of delivery of benefits

Financial and Management Reporting

* Provide Business Unit Management with analysis of financial performance through the interpretation of results and explanation of drivers of variance (e.g. Departmental Monthly Reporting packs)

* Maintain BU(s) KPIs, scorecards and financial targets including meeting with the Management Team to discuss BU(s) financial performance

* Review monthly financial result of BU(s) and enquire into significant fluctuations from budget

* Establish procedures with line departments to provide variance explanations to management

* Review line departments’ productivity statistics for management reporting purposes & enquire into significant variances against budget

* Liaise closely with overseas Financial Services Managers across different regions for accounting related issues, budget, forecast and cost monitoring

* Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required

Requirements:

* Degree in Business or related discipline

* Minimum 3 years’ accounting/business partnering-related experience gained in a multinational or large corporation. Airline background will be highly advantageous

* Experience in the commercial sector providing advice and guidance to finance teams globally

* Polished communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels, in multicultural environments and in various scenarios

* Sound analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills

* Good interpersonal skills. Able to work both independently as well as an effective team player

* High proficiency with Microsoft Office

* Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese

* Able to work independently under pressure
