Ara | Auckland Airport Jobs and Skills Hub is a collective impact employment and vocational training hub established in November 2015. Its objective is to connect South Auckland people with employment opportunities at Auckland Airport, equipping them with the skills necessary to secure employment, and providing continuous opportunities for upskilling while in employment. with local jobseekers in South Auckland While Ara has to date focussed on placing people into construction jobs, that focus is now expanding to include the many industries located around the airport, including logistics, travel and tourism, retail and hospitality. In 2017 Ara was granted registration as a Charitable Trust. The Ara Business Development Manager role has been established for a fixed term of 12 months to develop and put in place the necessary structures and processes to set Ara up for success in the long term. Key Functions in this role involve: * Managing Ara’s business plan, including the development and delivery of strategic projects; * Managing Ara’s core business processes including finances, performance monitoring and reporting; * Providing leadership, sense and direction to the Ara operational team; * Acting as a bridge between Ara and Auckland Airport; * Maintaining and further developing key stakeholder relationships, so practical, financial and strategic support for Ara is secured for the long term. To be successful in this role you will have: * Relevant tertiary qualification (eg. in business, commerce and/ or social development) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience * Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in business development, project management or equivalent roles, preferably including in the social development sector * Demonstrated success in developing processes, plans and budgets in collaborative multi-agency environments * Well-developed leadership skills, combined with the ability to build strong relationships and networks with key stakeholders * Business writing and verbal communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills * Understanding of commercial realities, and well developed business acumen Applications for this closes on the 08th October.
