Position description
The AOG Desk has a vital function within the Supply Chain of SWISS Technics. It is responsible to ensure on a 24/7 basis that all zero stock and urgent material requests will be made available as quickly as possible, under the most economical conditions for the entire SWISS fleet.
Your Duties
* Sourcing and supply of urgently needed aircraft spare parts
* Negotiation of terms and conditions allowing for immediate availability
* Decision making towards most suitable and economic solution (e.g. Purchasing, Loan, Exchange)
* Coordinating best mode of transport with the assigned freight forwarder
* Tracking and tracing of specific shipments worldwide
* Expediting delivery of parts to required point of usage
* Close coordination of cases with Aircraft Maintenance
* Settlement and closing of AOG cases and other back office tasks
* Communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Support Duties during off-office hours for other departments within Technical Division
Requirements
* Technical and/or commercial education
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), any other language is an advantage
* 2 - 5 years’ experience in logistics and/or procurement, preferably in an Aviation environment
* Good IT Know How (MS Office), AMOS knowledge is an advantage
* Willingness for year-round 24/7 shift work in a small team (actually 8 Duty Officers)
* Negotiation skills and ability to make quick decisions
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Able to work and take decisions independently
* Ability to handle complex tasks and work under pressure
