Job Description

Crew Manpower Planning team leverages advanced analytics to deliver optimal staffing levels for the airline while balancing operational reliability and enterprise cost. 6,700 daily flights and over 35,000 pilots and flight attendants create a considerable opportunity to apply analytics to forecast, optimize, track, report, and manage crew business variables. As airline flying schedules follow ever changing consumer demand, accurately forecasting crew manpower requirements is critical to running a reliable operation. Analysts are expected to develop in depth understanding of airline flying schedule, and through quantitative analysis of historical crew data engineer a robust manpower plan.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain crew staffing models to analyze manpower requirements and provide accurate crew staffing forecasts
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to manpower planning issues and develop strategies to optimize staffing
  • Evaluate operational and financial implications of strategic changes including, but not limited to, flying schedule, labor contract provisions, regulatory provisions, and technology
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and analyses as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Aviation, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience/training
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Strong analytical background involving data input, manipulation and presentation
  • Working knowledge of probability, statistics and forecasting techniques preferred
  • Experience with SQL and simulation software is preferred
  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and logical with aggressive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to work effectively, meet deadlines, and shift priorities appropriately in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities
  • Must be willing to travel on company business if and when necessary
  • Hours of operation are typically Monday-Friday with occasional extended hours outside of the regularly scheduled shift. Do you accept these working conditions
