Carbon60 have a new opportunity for a number of Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technicians to work a 6 month contract based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
You will be working for a global leader in aeronautics, space and related services. As an AIT, you will be expected to perform electrical and mechanical integration activities such as Coax cable, waveguide and equipment integration as well as working in accordance to 5S and COSH requirements.
Essential Experience required:
· Qualification in Aerospace engineering or relatable industry (HNC, HND or Apprenticeship)
· Detailed assembly and integration to meet industry standards
· Experience in basic engineering hand skills, hand tools and tool control
· Experience working with technical documentation, reading and understanding engineering drawings and diagrams
· Experience of harness securing methods
· Previous working experience in handling and use of chemicals and hazardous substances
Ideally the AIT would have worked in a similar position previously and have experience of working in a cleanroom environment. They would have familiarity with RF, MLI and inspection activities and techniques.
Summary of role details:
· Start: ASAP
· Contract Length: 6 Months
· Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
· Hours: Average of 37 a week (Overtime may be available but cannot be guaranteed)
· Shift: Rotating weekly shifts of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00. (Occasional night shift may be required)
· Rate: Basic hourly Limited rate + shift uplift) Paid into UK limited company or Umbrella company.
The successful candidate must undergo referencing and security clearance prior to commencement of contract.
