Zenon is delighted to be supporting a very well established Helicopter Operator in sourcing an Airworthiness Manager on a permanent basis located in Africa with flights and accommodation provided.

The Airworthiness Manager shall report directly to the Technical Director. The Airworthiness Manager leads the activities of the staff to ensure safe and efficient activities carried out within the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation. The Airworthiness Manager is responsible to:

 

  • Ensure compliance of the continuous airworthiness requirements of Aviation Authority
  • Day to Day management of the Airworthiness Department (Technical Records, Technical Library, Maintenance Planning, Engineering Services and Airworthiness Review) using sound management practices, while observing the best business practices and ethics.
  • Promotes technical excellence within Airworthiness Department through technical review participation, lessons learned awareness and application, and technical growth fostering.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved.
  • Implements initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the Airworthiness Department to customer needs.
  • Ensures compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented.
  • Amends and controls of the Maintenance Control Manual.
  • Ensures any corrective actions to audits are to be addressed in a timely manner.
  • Reviews Aircraft Maintenance Programme’s prior to presentation to the Aviation Authority
  • Reviews Minimum Equipment Lists prior to submitting for approval to Aviation Authority
  • Reviews and implements, as appropriate, of any new Aviation Authority requirements related to Aviation Authority Part 5, in conjunction with Technical Director and Quality Manager.
  • Develops airworthiness department policies, programs and procedures, for presentation to Technical Director.
  • Participates in the selection of staff and their evaluation to meet high airworthiness department standards.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the accomplishment of the Company’s goals & objectives and to grow internal certification capabilities
  • Establishes and monitors annual budgets for the department and other duties required by the Technical Director.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • At least 5 additional years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with rotary wing aircraft.
  • Hold valid and current recognized international license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective problem solving abilities
  • Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Experience working with Aviation Authorities and other Regulatory Agencies.
  • Knowledgeable of the Aviation Authority regulations coupled with a strong engineering leadership background.
