The position

Do you have the ability to deliver results through others? Are you able to drive Safety improvement airside?

The main functions of the Airside Safety Lead are to ensure that Safety requirements under the aerodrome manual and the Safety Management System are being met and to support the development and implementation airside safety strategy.

Main Responsibilities include:

* To lead, motivate, develop and coach a small team

* Ensure that aerodrome procedures, practices and activities are in accordance with relevant aerodrome license requirements, CAA publications (mandatory and advisory) HSE, and ICAO policy documentation. Review changes in documentation to ensure compliance is maintained by revising procedures.

* Leads the analysis of airside safety performance, identifying key trends and ensuring appropriate improvement plans are in place and that they are being delivered against agreed programme timescales.

* Owns the measurement and reporting of airside performance against agreed safety and compliance KPIs

* Delivery of the LCY Airside Safety management system

* Champions airside safety performance by articulating the airside safety vision, current performance and expectations across the entire airside community

* Drives cultural change within the airside community to enable a step change in airside safety and compliance

Experience and Personal Attributes:

* Good general education to A level standard, degree calibre.

* Attention to detail, organised and methodical.

* Airport Operational experience essential

* Knowledge of CAA regulation, airside experience

Hours of Work:

0900 – 1730 hrs Mon – Fri (40 per week) plus out of hours when necessary. Out of hours work may be required in response to changes in the Airfield status.
