Position Purpose

The Airside Driving Centre seeks to provide practical testing of all applicants requiring an Authority to Drive Airside, to maintain airside driving standards to a high standard in accordance with the standards and practices as laid down in the Sydney Airport Airside Vehicle Control Handbook.

To provide quality processing and administrative functions associated with the Airside Driving Centre.

Key Accountabilities

1. Conduct practical testing of all current holders and new applications for a Category 2, 3 & 4 Authority to Drive Airside (driver licences).

2. Develop and maintain relationships with airside drivers to foster an airport wide driver safety awareness and appreciation.

3. Processing applications for and issuing Authority to Use Airside (vehicle registrations) and Authorities to Drive Airside (driver’s licences)

4. Ensuring the integrity of various databases

5. Preparation of reports and correspondence

6. Supervising theoretical and practical testing of applicants for an Authority to Drive Airside.

7. Management of the ADA examination booking system

8. Answer phone queries related to Airside Driving.

9. Compile statistical information and provide analytical reports as required on applicable computer applications.

10. Maintain operational documents and libraries in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

11. Process aerobridge operator access applications and monitor training records.

12. Preparation of monthly Airside Driving Centre accounts information

13. Ensure all ADC vehicles and equipment are in a serviceable and operational condition at all times

14. General administrative duties associated with the Airside Driving Centre and/or ID, Access & Driving Centre.

15. Ensure work practices are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and policies in respect to WHS, EEO and Environmental responsibilities.

16. Monitor and administer the allocation of penalty points where required against driver records and provide advice to the Safety Systems Manager.

17. Assist the AOL/ADC Supervisors in the maintenance of ADC procedures and policies including examinations.

18. Manage Aerobridge training records, enquiries and access requirements.

Qualifications & Knowledge

* Current ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)

* Current Cat 2 ADA or higher with no current demerit points against driving record.

* NSW Driving Licence

* Ability to obtain Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

* Experienced in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

* Ability to obtain Senior First Aid Certificate

* Ability to obtain a Cat 3 and / or 4 ADA

* Office Administration Certificate (or comparable experience )

* Previous experience in training and assessment

* Knowledge of airport and/or airline ramp operations an advantage

* Knowledge of airside and landside driving rules and regulations

* Strong customer focus, with the ability to build rapport and relationships with the airport community

* Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

* Intermediate level computer skills

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to achieve results and meet deadlines.

* Ability to work within laid down policies, procedures and guidelines with minimal supervision

* Ability to complete documentation as required

* Ability to work independently or as a member of a team

* Positive attitude

* Experienced in the preparation of statistical reports and analysis
