Overview

The Stand Allocation Unit are currently recruiting for a panel for positions which may arise. The panel will be live for a maximum of twelve months. Reporting to the Stand Allocation and Planning Manager, the role holder will be responsible for Stand and Gate planning to ensure that all aircraft are allocated parking stands in a safe manner, taking into consideration the requirements of the published Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) as well as terminal and apron constraints. A successful applicant will commence and successfully complete a 20-week training period, if they are appointed into a role from the panel over the course of the 12 months. There will be at least 2 assessments during the period of training and a final solo assessment in the live environment before a candidate is signed off. The success rate of applicants who commence training is 80%.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

* Stand and gate planning to ensure that all aircraft are allocated parking stands in a safe manner, taking into consideration the requirements of the published Aeronautical Information Publication( AIP).
* Monitoring and recording all surface movement data through the management of the Airport Operations Stand Management System including: airborne/touch-town times, on-block/off-block times, stand used, aircraft registrations, towing times, etc.
* Work closely with the Airport Duty Managers to provide information on current aircraft operations, to inform of any operation out of the ordinary and to advise on any business continuity decisions that may need to be taken.
* Engagement with airlines, handling agents and ATC to provide information on stand and gate operations and to inform of changes allocations as and when required.
* Operating SMS callout mechanisms to inform key groups of significant operational information including aircraft emergencies, winter operations plan activation, business continuity group activation, etc.
* Recording the day’s events in the stand allocation unit daily log processing withdrawal of facilities requests and producing the weekly Operations report.
* Occasional project work to support the development of seasonal stand plans and planning apron works and for exceptional events such as VIP, sporting, and adverse weather conditions.
* Key support to the ADM during Winter Operations as Snow Control Officer
* Monitoring ATC air and ground frequencies and visually observing ramp operations, in so far as is practically possible, for issues that relate to safety on the ramp and taking appropriate action.
