Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of all assigned aircraft along with associated ground support equipment for assigned contract.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)

Ensures all maintenance functions are conducted in accordance with appropriate safety directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical manuals.
Develops, implements, reviews, and updates Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for the maintenance of the aviation fleet, maintenance shops, and facilities.
Advises management on current maintenance operational readiness (OR) rates and other maintenance functions as required. Ensures OR/FMC rates maintain at or above contract requirements.
Establishes priorities and general guidance for the success of the contract, ensuring each department is primarily focused on operations support and success.
Ensures all tools and associated maintenance equipment are inventoried and 100% accountable.
Ensures work orders and other maintenance is conducted in a timely manner with emphasis on operational mission support.
Ensures Downed Aircrew Recovery Teams (DART) are manned, equipped and trained for contingency operations.
Ensures maintenance test flights are performed to support maintenance operations.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and other practices set forth by the customer and higher management.
Offers solutions to maintenance problems that adversely affect program performance.
Maintains customer contacts and visitations to ensure mature relationships.
Ensures continuity files are established and updated for all positions within their department.
Conducts ongoing training of personnel/host nation counterpart training as required.
Performs other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of the repair and modification of aircraft.
Extensive knowledge of logistics, machinery, facilities and equipment.
Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate fluently in the English language.
Working knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
Previous U.S. Government agency security clearance within the last 15 years or approved NACI within the last 10 years required.
Experience & Education

Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license preferred.
Completion of military maintenance manage/supervisor courses of instruction.
Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in the maintenance environment which includes a minimum of 10 years in aviation maintenance operations and management.
Experience on projects similar in scope and/or size.
Served in either a high risk environment or on a U.S. military combat tour.
Additional requirements may be required by contract.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment

Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures and environments while working in field conditions.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waste level and 30 pounds to shoulder height.
Travel

Travel to austere or inhospitable high stress environments will be required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
