Job Summary

The Aircraft Logs and Records Manager is responsible for supervising Aircraft Logs and Records Clerks in the day-to-day administrative upkeep of assigned aircraft, engine, propeller and ejection seat logbooks and equipment custody cards in accordance with applicable publications and instructions.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)

Responsible for the management and sustainment of all aircraft logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records, aircraft maintenance files, records and reports, directives and correspondence in an aircraft maintenance and operations environment in accordance with applicable publications and instructions
Supervise assigned Logs and Records staff/employees to include employee performance, addressing personnel issues, generating assignments, and setting completion priorities.
Responsible for Logs and Records employee training.
Responsible for all data processing, data entry and NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) administrative oversight and support at both main operating base (MOB) and detachments.
Responsible for accuracy and timely submission of weekly, monthly, yearly, aircraft/engine management and inventory reporting system reports.
Responsibly for preparing and processing readiness documents, administering the aircraft configuration status accounting program and verification of aircraft utilization reports.
Responsible for accuracy and submission of aircraft/engine management and inventory reporting system reports. Initiate and distribute applicable maintenance forms in accordance with established procedures.
Ensure work center cleanliness and that all employees present a courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with customers and co-workers.
Ensure established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment are strictly adhered to.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge & Skills

Analyze project needs, apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems, and provide acceptable solutions to technical related issues of moderate scope and complexity.
Plan, organize, and prioritize workloads and tasks
Analyze and interpret professional journals, publications, instructions and regulations.
Write technical reports, business correspondence and procedural instructions.
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems (software).
Advanced knowledge of CNAF 4790.2 series and Logs and Records related instructions and publications.
Advanced knowledge of NALCOMIS OOMA including Data Analyst and System Administrator skills.
Advanced knowledge of U.S. Naval aircraft, engine, propeller and ejection seat logbooks, Aeronautical Equipment Service Records (AESR), and like related Logs & Records documents, maintenance reports and records.
Experience & Education

Four (4) year business/management degree preferred. Waiverable dependent on education and experience level.
Must have four (4) years of aviation clerical experience in maintaining aircraft log books, aeronautical equipment service records and associated logs.
Previous experience with US Navy, and/or FAA aircraft logbooks and documentation is required.
Minimum ten (10) years management and or supervisory experience in a Navy/USMC Aviation Organization and or intermediate maintenance activity.
Satisfactory completion of U.S. Navy Aeronautical Technical publications Library Management Course or U.S. Navy Aeronautical Logs and Records Management Course, or equivalent service schools related course.
Skilled with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment

Must be able to walk or stand on level and or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day.
Maybe required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the heights of 3 feet.
Maybe required to carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
Must be able to climb/descend stairs.
