Aircraft Interior Design Specialist Qatar Airways Doha
About the role
In the role of Aircraft Interior Specialist, you will support the integration and planning of on-going and future aircraft interior design programs within Qatar Airways’ by assisting and coordinating tasks with the Line Manager.
You will coordinate between departments and suppliers / developers in order to introduce unique interior solutions that are of world class standard. You will also assist the Line Manager and the team to certify and confirm that cabins are elegantly designed, practical, purpose built as well as visually pleasing adhering to Qatar Airways brand values, matching colours and materials according to Qatar Airways standards in collaboration with the Branding and Interior Design Specialist.Key accountabilities of the role- Will assist the Line Manager in planning, developing and managing the design aspects and the production of high quality products and design layouts for all different aircraft types in a timely manner.
- Will be required to use CAD (Computer aided design) applications along with hand rendering to prepare sample designs as per instructions and advice from the Line Manager.
- Assist the Line Manager in the identification of material such as fabric, equipment or items that may add aesthetic value within the aircraft in liaison with the Fashion and Textile Design Specialist and Branding and Interior Design Specialist.
- Collaborate with the Branding and Interior Design Specialist to acquire information on the brand and corporate identity that needs to be translated into the Aircraft interior design and work closely through every step of the design process from conceptualisation to implementation of the aircraft interiors.
- Apply artistic and imaginative design specific aspects for all Qatar Airways’ Aircrafts, prepare reports and detailed presentations for the aircraft manufactures and developers in order to exhibit design properties and appropriate visualization as per QR standards prior to preparing for testing and implementation of such designs within aircraft.
- Interprets, re-thinks and re-designs customer needs as outlined in creative briefs and translates them into compelling visual product designs.
- Assist in designing and planning as per available data and statistics received such as floor plans, seating arrangements, colour combinations, space layouts, fit-outs and placement of graphics as well as digital branding, using high quality processing software.
- Visit Aircraft manufactures and developers to understand the scope of design for the relevant aircraft, discuss visions and future ideas, suggest ideas and understand feasibility of planed designs.
- Inspect assessment and audit reports and analysis results while creating designs for specific areas ensuring an optimum use of space, monitor progress and quality of implementation of approved designs.
- Prepare detailed schedules for any project that is undertaken by carrying out adequate research, make sure that plans are technically feasible and cost effective.
You will have a Bachelors Degree with preferably a Degree/Diploma in CAD (Computer Aided Design). A Degree in Interior design or similar scope will be an added advantage. You will also have 5 years of experience in a similar position.
