Airborne Electronics Hardware Engineer

The Company has been working for the last decade in electrification and hybridisation of aircraft.

The business has been awarded a number of significant cutting-edge programs to provide innovative equipment onto new aircraft platforms.

For this activity, the organisation needs to supplement its team with an outstanding electronic hardware engineer.

The Role:
In this position, you will report directly to the head of design and will hold all responsibility for the development and testing of certifiable aircraft electronics in line with EASA part 21, ARP 4754 and DO254. Knowledge of safety processes ARP 4761 and software DO 178 will be essential to interface effectively with the relevant teams.
We are looking for a competent candidate who will be able to capture requirements, undertake concept design, capture detailed requirements interfacing with software, undertake detailed design including schematic capture, component selection, associated modelling and simulation, document test procedures, supervise manufacturing and conduct verification, testing and manage any associated tools.
Your Day to Day:
•Deliver certified hardware designs relating to control, power and gate drive applications interfacing with our power electronics, electromagnetic, software, control system, safety, project and mechanical teams.
•Work in accordance with EASA part 21, ARP 4754 and DO-254 Standards.
•Secure any competences and capabilities not in your skill set.
•Execute the delivery of our existing awarded programs and secure the award of the projects in bid phase
Your profile:
•Degree in electronic engineering (MEng/Ph. D.)
•Experience with aircraft electronics development process and certification according to DO-254 required
•Experience in schematic capture tools
•Experience in component selection and latest processor developments
•Modelling and simulation in Matlab/SPICE tools
•Experience in requirements documentation, design documentation and report writing.
•Design of analogue circuitry (amplifiers, filters, signal sampling etc.)
•Experience with communications standards (ARINC CAN RS232)
•Design for EMC and/or lightning protection
•Requirements capture using IBM DOORS.
•Experience in testing
•Experience in test coverage tools
•Experience in software to aid basic code writing, modification and thorough interface with the software team
•Strong motivation
•High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
•Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
•Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent French or any other language would be beneficial

Salary 40k 80k depending on skill set.
