PURPOSE:

The Aircraft Accessory Technician (Level 1) is directly responsibly to the Director of Technical Operations for the overhaul and/or repair of aircraft components.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Perform preliminary visual inspections and/or testing on all incoming aircraft components, document general condition (cleanliness, damage, etc.). Verify that the part number & serial number listed on the aircraft components match the customer’s paperwork and the Berry Aviation, Inc work order.

•Perform disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of aircraft components in accordance with the applicable component maintenance/overhaul manuals, service bulletins, and OEM technical data. Document all inspection findings on the Berry Aviation, Inc work order, order all required replacement parts that will be needed to re-assemble aircraft component to a serviceable condition.

•Perform re-assembly of aircraft components with new and/or serviceable parts in accordance with the applicable component maintenance/overhaul manual, service bulletins, and OEM technical data.

•Perform return-to-service testing and/or adjustments of aircraft components in accordance with the applicable component maintenance/overhaul manuals, service bulletins, and OEM technical data.

•Complete all required paperwork as outlined in the Berry Aviation, Inc Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM). Forward completed aircraft components and paperwork to the Inspection Department for final inspection.

•Have a good working knowledge and remain current with the contents of the Berry Aviation, Inc Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM) as it applies to his/her area of responsibilities.

•Observe and promote all company safety procedures as outlined in the Berry Aviation, Inc Safety Procedures Manual.

•Ensure on-the job training (OJT) forms are completed for all new tasks assigned and performed.

•Ensure that all repair station tools and equipment utilized by the technician are maintained in clean and serviceable condition. Where applicable, before use verify tools and equipment are within the required calibration interval. Any tool or equipment found to be out of calibration, damaged or dropped must not be used. Tools and equipment that are damaged, dropped and/or out of calibration must be immediately taken to the inspection department for disposition.

•Ensure all assigned work areas are maintained in a safe and clean condition.

•Any other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Operations.

The Aircraft Accessory Technician (Level 1) may not delegate any of his/her duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Must be 18 years of age

•High school diploma or GED

•Must read, write, speak & understand the English language

•Possess basic hand tools required to perform assigned tasks

•Must be a team player and work well with others
