An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Aerospace/ Air Vehicle Designer to join a company who are currently working on a number of different contracts.

You will be responsible for conceptual and preliminary design and analysis of aerospace vehicles and associated systems. Working with the Chief Systems Engineer, you will undertake design, analysis, modelling and optimisation of new & existing air vehicles and systems, in accordance with technical requirements specified within the contract with the customer.

The successful candidate will have an Engineering degree coupled with an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design or Aircraft Engineering, candidates will be required to attain security clearance for this contract.

Air Vehicle Design Engineer Requirements:

• Proven background within air vehicle conceptual design and performance analysis
• Experience with vehicle aerodynamics, stability and control and structural design
• Strong understanding of aircraft propulsion and power system performance
• Familiarity with ISO9001, EASA/CAA and DAOS approvals
• Previous experience of working with design and analysis tools such as CATIA, MathCAD and Matlab

Air Vehicle Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Carry out analysis and interpretation of client requirements and technical specifications
• Good understanding of whole vehicle air design, operational concepts and through life issues
• Conceptualise innovative solutions to air vehicle, associated problems and challenging requirements
• Perform conceptual and preliminary design analysis
• Assist in the production of plans to de-risk novel aspects of air vehicles/systems
• Participate in reporting technical progress associated with achieving programme milestones
