Accountant Accounts Payable

Description

Reporting to the Regional Manager Finance, Accounts Payable, the incumbent will be responsible for Accounts Payable accounting and financial reporting function of countries’ portfolio in the region. She/he must have the ability to work independently in supporting the Manager, Finance with day-to-day activities assigned.

Responsibilities

* In charge of payroll and accounts payable functions of various countries in the region and ensure these functions are performed in accordance with the Financial Policies Manual (FPM) and the Financial Standard Operating Procedure (SOP);
* Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
* Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
* Manage countries’ cash flow and perform monthly cash flow forecast.
* Perform month and year end closing in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This includes preparation of reconciliation reports, financial disclosure documents, preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
* Maintaining historical records
* Liaise with tax agent to prepare direct and indirect tax filing.
* Support ad hoc tax enquires or audit by the tax authority.
* Support external auditors on local statutory audit reporting which includes preparation of local statutory audit reports in accordance with local accounting standards.
* Support Manager, Finance on any process improvements projects or initiatives or any ad hoc assignment.

Qualifications and Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting or relevant field of study.
* 2-5 years of working experience in accounting (accounts payable/payroll) preferably within an international environment and with experience in accrual based accounting.
* SAP experience and IFRS knowledge are essentials;
* Regional accounting and tax filings experience would be an asset;
* Ability to set priorities, work with speed with a strong customer focus and a high level of energy and drive; Project management skills are a distinct asset.
* Meticulous and an eye for details as required for accounts reconciliation support;
* Strong English language skills (verbal and written);Other regional languages would be an asset.
