Airbus A320 Line Captain

Our Client, IndiGo Airlines a solidly established airline operating in India, requires fifty A320 Line Captains for immediate employment.

Indigo is based in New Delhi, the capital of India. India has a very educated population with the vast majority speaking English. IndiGo Airlines is the largest domestic airline of India. It is the only profitable airline of India and has been so since its founding. According to Airbus, the airline is one of the best A320 operators in Asia.

In June 2006, IndiGo Airlines ordered 100 A320s. It ordered another 180 A320s, including150 NEO variants, in January 2011. On October 2014, IndiGo signed a MoU for another 350 A320 NEOs. These orders make IndiGo current aircraft order the largest in history. The airline will be taking delivery of 12 A320 NEOs in 2015. It will take in an A320 every seventeen days in 2016.

IndiGo offers stable employment up to age 65. AeroPersonnel has pilots who have been flying with the airline for more than five years. IndiGo Airlines offers an excellent opportunity to continue flying beyond age 60 (up to 65). It accepts candidates up to age 59. It also accepts candidates who are currently flying the A320 up to age 60.

Remuneration and benefit package for senior captains

All remuneration is paid after taxes have been paid in India. Before tax remuneration is presented to make it easier to compare remuneration levels with before tax home remuneration. India taxation treaties prevent double taxation.

For Option 1, Five months on / One month off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 221,400 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 144,100 US$ per year at a taxation rate of 34.9 %. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

A monthly remuneration package, including lodging allowance and bonuses, averaging 12,000 US $ net of taxes as follows:

  • a monthly salary of 10,300 US $ after tax for 80 sector hours per month plus the bonus and allowances listed below.

For Option 2, Twelve weeks on / Four weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 205,900 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 134,100 US$ per year at a taxation rate of 34.9 %. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

A monthly remuneration package, including lodging allowance and bonuses, averaging 11,100 US $ net of taxes as follows:

  • a monthly salary of 9,500 US $ after tax for 80 sector hours per month plus the bonus and allowances listed below.

For Option 3, Ten weeks on / Four weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 202,100 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 131,500 US$ per year at a taxation rate of 34.9 %. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

A monthly remuneration package, including lodging allowance and bonuses, averaging 10,900 US $ net of taxes as follows:

  • a monthly salary of 9,300 US $ after tax for 80 sector hours per month plus the bonus and allowances listed below.

For Option 4, Six weeks on / Two weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 202,100 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 131,500 US$ per year at a taxation rate of 34.9 %. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

A monthly remuneration package, including lodging allowance and bonuses, averaging 10,900 US $ net of taxes as follows:

  • a monthly salary of 9,300 US $ after tax for 80 sector hours per month plus the bonus and allowances listed below.

For Option 5, Eight weeks on / Four weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 181,700 US$ before tax per year 

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 118,300 US$ per year at a taxation rate of 34.9 %. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

A monthly remuneration package, including lodging allowance and bonuses, averaging 9,800 US $ net of taxes as follows:

  • a monthly salary of 8,250 US $ after tax for 80 sector hours per month plus the bonus and allowances listed below.

For Option 6, Four weeks on / Four weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 151,100 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 98,300 US$ per year at a taxation rate of 34.9 %. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

A monthly remuneration package, including lodging allowance and bonuses, averaging 8,200 US $ net of taxes as follows:

  • a monthly salary of 6.666 US $ after tax for 80 sector hours per month plus the bonus and allowances listed below.

Overtime, bonus and allowances

  • Overtime pay above 80 sector hours a month at 150 US $ per hour;
  • A furnished apartment or a lodging allowance of 1,200 US $ per month;
  • Yearly conditional bonus equivalent to 5 % of remuneration;
  • Medical coverage to an amount of 5 Lakh IR (approximately 7,900 US$);
  • Worldwide BUPA medical c0verage is available through AeroPersonnel;
  • Accident insurance to an amount of 50 Lakh IR (approximately 79,000 US $);
  • Deadhead allowance of 3,000 IR (approximately 47 US$);
  • Free local ground transportation;
  • Out of station layover allowance 2,000 IR (approximately 31 US$) with international allowances higher depending on destination.

Qualifications and experience requirements

Candidates must:

  • hold a recognized airline pilot license;
  • have a minimum of 5,000 hours total time;
  • have a minimum of 2,000 hours multi-engine time;
  • be type rated on a variant of the A320 aircraft family;
  • have at least  1,000 hours on glass cockpit aircraft;
  • have at least 1,000 hours as PIC on a variant of the A320 aircraft family, or,
  • have at least 500 hours as PIC on the A320 family and a minimum 3,000 hours PIC;
  • have flown a variant of the A320 aircraft family within the last 24 months;
  • hold a Class 1 medical and be less than age 60;
  • be less than age 61 if currently flying the A320 (within the last three months).

Contract up to three year of duration is offered subject to Indian DGCA approval.
